Tomsk Regional Centre of the Presidential Library hosted an intellectual game, dedicated to A. S. Pushkin
Specialists of the Tomsk Regional Centre of the Presidential Library and the Pushkin Tomsk Regional Universal Research Library hosted the intellectual game The Name Familiar since Childhood for the pupils of the Tomsk Correctional Facility №2. The event was dedicated to Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin’s works.
Before the game, pupils were shown the Presidential Library’s electronic collection Alexander Pushkin (1799-1837) that features digital copies of archival documents spotlighting the life and career of the poet. Alexander Sergeyevich’s diary was demonstrated as an example of the collection’s documents.
Five teams competed in six rounds by answering questions about the biography and career of the great Russian poet. During the game, competitors solved problems from the textbook by Leonty Magnitsky that Alexander Pushkin used to study arithmetic in the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum, guessed fictional characters, and identified the authors by book covers.
According to the event’s organizers, game participants surprised everyone with their great knowledge of the topic. An additional round had to be held to determine the winner among two teams with the same number of points.
Head of the Periodicals Department of the Pushkin Tomsk Regional Universal Research Library Nadezhda Yakovenko and Chief Librarian of the Regional Centre of the Presidential Library Anna Uzolina participated in the event.
