31 August 2022

On September 6, 2022 the Novosibirsk State Regional Scientific Library will host the grand opening of the exposition “The Conquest of Interplanetary Spaces. Different fates of a book”. The Novosibirsk Museum is the co-organizer of the event.

The exhibition marks the 125th anniversary of the Russian scientist Yuri Vasilyevich Kondratyuk, one of the founders of cosmonautics. It was he who calculated the optimal flight path to the Moon - the so-called "Kondratyuk track".

The exposition features copies of the first edition of Yuri Vasilyevich's book "The Conquest of Interplanetary Spaces" (1929), which are available in libraries and museums of the country. In this book, the author outlined the sequence of the first stages of space exploration with the possibility of returning to Earth.

Everyone will have an opportunity to learn about the virtual exhibition of the project, which includes the Outer Space collection from the electronic collections of the Presidential Library.

A digital copy of the publication "The Conquest of Interplanetary Spaces" by Yu. V. Kondratyuk is available in the electronic reading room and in remote access centers to the resources of the Presidential Library throughout the country.

The institution’s portal features the collection Novosibirsk Region: Pages of History. It includes books, periodicals, archive documents and visual materials that spotlight various aspects of the history of Novosibirsk Region.
