The Presidential Library hosts an Olympiad in the Russian language for foreign schoolchildren and students

Olympiad “Russia in the Electronic World” in the subject “Russian as a Foreign Language” is held from October 3, 2022 to March 31, 2023. Foreign citizens, schoolchildren aged 14 and older, as well as college students, have an opportunity to test their knowledge.

The Olympiad consists of two stages. The qualifying round is organized through the remote knowledge testing system from October 3, 2022 to January 20, 2023. The final stage will be held offline on March 29-31, 2023 at the Presidential Library in St. Petersburg, its branch in Tyumen Region, as well as at the institution’s remote electronic reading rooms in all regions of the Russian Federation and 33 foreign countries.

Competitive examination helps to evaluate three levels of Russian language proficiency: elementary (A1), basic (A2), first certification level (B1). The knowledge testing system includes tasks in three sections – Vocabulary, Grammar, Listening. The final stage will also feature the Writing and Speaking section.

The Olympiad “Russian as a Foreign Language” has been held by the Presidential Library since 2019. Over 2,000 schoolchildren and students from 50 countries have already participated in the event.

The Presidential Library regularly hosts competitions and olympiads for schoolchildren and students of secondary vocational education institutions. In addition, the Olympiad “Russia in the Electronic World” in history, social studies and Russian language for schoolchildren and college students started on September 21, 2022.
