Sverdlovsk specialists of the library sector and the education system introduced to the Presidential Library’s resources

The experience of the Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library was presented at the conference "Reading Russia: Formats and Practices", which was held on October 21 in Yekaterinburg.

The event was held as part of the implementation of the international month of school libraries. The main task is to attract everyone's attention to children's reading. The organizers are Ministry of Education and Youth Policy of Sverdlovsk Region and the regional Institute for the Development of Education.

The conference was attended by the President of the Russian School Library Association Tatyana Zhukova, representatives of the Institute for the Development of Education of Sverdlovsk Region, the Ural Regional Branch of the Russian Reading Association, the Krapivin Sverdlovsk Regional Library for Children and Youth and other specialized specialists.

How to promote in children a love of reading - this issue became a key one during the discussion of the conference participants. The speakers shared their experience in the implementation of projects and competitions aimed at popularizing reading in schools and institutions of additional education. Special attention was paid to the most successful practices implemented in Sverdlovsk Region.

As part of the conference, Anastasia Severina, the chief specialist of the Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library, spoke about the resources of the Presidential Library, the features of dealing with the portal and the electronic reading room of the institution.

The electronic collections of the Presidential Library contain hundreds of thousands of digitized copies of rare archival documents spotlighting the history of our country and constituting its cultural heritage. Among them - a large number of materials that will be of interest to the younger generation.

Recall that more than 100 remote electronic reading rooms of the Presidential Library have been opened in Sverdlovsk Region. They are based on municipal libraries and schools, as well as institutions of secondary and higher professional education.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History. It includes statistical materials, studies, essays and photographs of the 19th - early 20th centuries covering various aspects of the development of the region.
