Marking the 410th anniversary of the liberation of Moscow from foreign invaders: Penza schoolchildren learned about the events of 1612

On November 22, 2022 the Lermontov Penza Regional Library hosted a practice and oriented lesson for students of secondary school № 68 - "National Unity Day" from the series of events "The Russian State: the Past and the Present".

The guys were told about how in 1612 the people's militia led by Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky liberated Moscow from the Polish invaders.

The pupils were shown the Presidential Library’s portal. They learned about the institution’s electronic collections, learned how to carry out a thematic search, deal with an electronic book. Schoolchildren were also offered to find materials on the events of the Time of Troubles on the Presidential Library’s portal.

The pupils learned about the collection of the Presidential Library Overcoming the Troubles in Russia. According to organizers, the young guests were especially interested in the historical calendar 400th Anniversary of Overcoming the Time Troubles and Restoring Russian Statehood, which was designed using illustrations from the series of publications “Russian History in Pictures” (Moscow: I. D. Sytin’s works, 1900s) and from the book of I. M. Snegiryov Antiquities of the Russian state.

As part of the event, the pupils were also able to test their knowledge in history. In addition, they were told about the Olympiad Russia in the Electronic World in history, social science and the Russian language, which is held annually by the Presidential Library.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Penza Region: Pages of History. It includes archive documents, essays, studies, statistical and other materials that spotlight various aspects of the development of the region in different historical periods.
