Marking the 350th anniversary of Peter the Great. Presentation of the Presidential Library’s resources held in Penza

On November 26, 2022 a presentation of the Presidential Library’s resources was held at the Lermontov Penza Regional Library. The event marked the 350th anniversary of the birth of Peter I and was held as part of the XIV Interregional Exhibition and Fair "The World of Books on the Penza Land".

Employees of the Penza Regional Center of the Presidential Library presented the most interesting materials about the first Russian emperor, which are available on the Presidential Library’s portal. For example, such as Peter the Great among his employees (1902), A complete description of the deeds of His Majesty the Emperor Peter the Great (1788), Mikhail Lomonosov's heroic poem Peter the Great (1761). In addition, the historical calendar Marking the 350th anniversary of the birth of the Russian Emperor Peter I, published by the Presidential Library based on the materials from its electronic collections, was presented.

The specialists of the Penza Center also introduced the event participants to the collection Peter I (1672–1725), which includes documentary prose of the 18th–19th centuries, works by the first biographers of Peter I, collections of anecdotes and legends about him, collections of decrees and letters from the emperor.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Penza Region: Pages of History. It includes archival documents, essays, studies, statistical and other materials that spotlight various aspects of the development of the region in different historical periods.
