The Kurgan Regional Center of the Presidential Library announced the launch of the regional local history Olympiad "My Land"

On February 1, 2023 the local history Olympiad "My Land" was launched in Kurgan Region. The event is held by the Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on Yugov Kurgan Regional Universal Scientific Library.

The contest is held in three stages in an online format. Schoolchildren of 8-11 grades and students of secondary specialized educational institutions have an opportunity to take part in it.

The “My Land” Olympiad provides an opportunity not only to test the knowledge, but also to learn many interesting facts from the history of the Trans-Urals thanks to the study of unique documents. The event is also aimed at promoting humanitarian knowledge with the help of modern electronic resources.

The tasks of the Olympiad were based on the materials from local history publications, including those in the collections of the Electronic Library of the Yugov Kurgan Regional Universal Scientific Library and the Presidential Library.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Kurgan Region: Pages of History. It includes archival documents, statistical essays, studies, cartographic and other materials covering various aspects of the development of the region in different historical periods.
