The journalists of the Volgograd State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company prepared a special report "Stalingrad - Kuzbass: Hardened in Fire" marking the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad. It includes materials about the inauguration of the monument to the Liberator Soldier in Kemerovo. This is an exact copy of the monument installed in Berlin's Treptow Park. Its prototype is a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, a participant in the Battle of Stalingrad, Kuzbass resident Nikolai Masalov.

Part of the filming of the special report was carried out at the Fedorov State Scientific Library of Kuzbass in the electronic reading room of the Kemerovo Regional Center of the Presidential Library. The chief librarian of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library Marina Telyatieva told reporters about the digital collection of the Fedorov State Scientific Library of Kuzbass “Family Chronicle of War”. The library specialists have been working on this project since 2015, collecting materials about Kuzbass residents - participants in the Great Patriotic War and home front workers.

The report also includes materials about the role of Siberians in the Battle of Stalingrad, as there were thousands of Kuzbass residents. A specialist of the Fedorov State Scientific Library of Kuzbass Tatyana Rey told journalists about her father Vasily Sankov , who several years ago handed over materials for placement in the Family Chronicle of War digital collection.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Volgograd Region: Pages of History. It includes archival materials on the history, archeology, economics, demography and administrative development of the territories of Volgograd Region. The portal also presents the collection Kemerovo Region: Pages of History. It includes research, statistical materials and archival documents of the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries, covering various aspects of the development of the region. Some copies of the collection were digitized and donated to the holdings by specialists from the Fedorov State Scientific Library of Kuzbass.
