Russian House in Astana donated books to Kazakhstan school

28 February 2023

The Russian House in Astana donated books to a Taraz school. These are classical Russian literature, works by modern authors, as well as Kazakh folk tales.

The exhibition-presentation of new books took place in the school library. There, young readers had an opportunity to study the publications and choose something for themselves, as well as to exchange opinions with their peers about their favourite works and authors.

The campaign Give Books with Love coincided with the holding of the language tournament Experts of the Russian Language on the site of the school library. The event was held within the framework of the subject week of the Russian language. Students of grades 7 and 8 took part in the tournament.

The centre of remote access to the Presidential Library’s information resources, opened in 2013 and based on the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in Astana, today allows guests of the Russian House to explore the whole variety of collections of the library’s electronic holdings.

Visitors to the Russian House will be interested in the collection Russian Language from the Presidential Library’s electronic holdings. It contains over 1,100 depositary items of rare archival documents, including manuscripts, monuments of Russian writing, archival cases, scientific works, dictionaries, reference books, textbooks, and much more.

Guests of the Russian House also have a chance to explore the materials on the history of relations between Russia and Kazakhstan, which are presented in the Presidential Library’s electronic collection Russia – Kazakhstan: History of Relations.
