The Presidential Library’s content for humanities students of Penza
Specialists of the Regional Centre of the Presidential Library based on the Lermontov Penza Regional Library held an information and educational campaign The Presidential Library’s Content for Humanities Students at the Socio-Pedagogical College.
Future teachers were told about the Presidential Library’s collections, which combine different types of resources: book publications, archival files, ancient manuscripts, visual and cartographic materials, multimedia content.
The students learned how the Presidential Library’s electronic reading room differs from its Internet portal, which publications on the history of pedagogy are available on the library’s website from home, and how to participate in the student works competition using the Presidential Library’s information resources.
The students were shown the basic thematic collections State Authority and Russian Language, Russian People and Territory of Russia, as well as a collection dedicated to Penza Region. The students also got interested in the collections created to mark the anniversaries of the outstanding Russian poet and translator Vasily Zhukovsky and literary critic and publicist Vissarion Belinsky.
In addition, young people explored the collection Educational Publications, which contains textbooks, anthologies, and visual aids for educational institutions.
Training the skills of bibliographic search, students independently searched for books Explanatory reading of works of fiction in higher elementary school, in theological two-class schools, and in lower grades of secondary school and Grammar in elementary school on the principle of self-activity.
The collection Penza Region: Pages of History is available on the Presidential Library’s portal. It features archival documents, essays, research papers, statistical and other materials spotlighting various aspects of the region’s development in different historical periods.
