A quiz dedicated to Cadet Day launched at the Presidential Library

On March 27, 2023 the Presidential Library’s quiz website has opened registration for participation in the online quiz dedicated to Cadet Day. This year, the topic of the online quiz will be the 80th anniversary of the breaking of the siege of Leningrad and the victorious end of the Battles of Stalingrad and Kursk, the feat of Soviet soldiers, whose courage and heroism in fierce battles with the Nazis helped to achieve a radical turning point in the Great Patriotic War and liberate the Motherland from the Nazi invaders.

Cadets and pupils of military schools and cadet corps, students of cadet classes of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of the Russian Federation of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief are invited to participate in the quiz.

A list of materials on the Presidential Library’s website, revealing the history of the three mentioned events of the Great Patriotic War, was published to prepare for the quiz. Having carefully studied the sources of that time, presented in the library collections, students will be able to answer all the questions of the online quiz.

The tasks of the online quiz are also posted on the website of the Olympiad of the Presidential Library. To participate in the online quiz, one must register on the website of the Presidential Library. An online quiz participant must complete 16 tasks: 10 of them are test questions, 5 are parametric questions with the ability to enter a text answer, and 1 is an analytical task. Quiz tasks will be available until March 31 inclusive. The correct answers to the questions of the online quiz will be published on the Presidential Library’s portal on April 3.

The winner of the online quiz will be the student with the highest score and the correct answer to all questions. The award ceremony will take place as part of the Cadet Day at the Presidential Library on April 7, 2023 at 11:00 (Moscow time). As part of this event, there will also be held a quiz for teams of students from St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region.

Participants of the face-to-face quiz format at the Presidential Library will be asked to go through several stages:

• Blitz test (answers to 5 questions on the topic of the quiz game in the multimedia complex of the Presidential Library);
• Team competition (answers to three questions on the theme of the quiz game);
• Captains' competition (team captains and their chosen assistant answer a question on the topic of the quiz game);
• Finalist competition (two teams with the most points answer a difficult question on the topic of a quiz game).

All questions of the quiz are based on sources from the Presidential Library’s holdings, included in the list of sources for preparing for the quiz, published on the Presidential Library’s website.

The event will be broadcast on the Presidential Library’s portal in the Live broadcasts section in accordance with the program of live events, on the Rutube-channel of the institution, as well as on the pages on the social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki.
