A virtual exhibition in Bashkortostan to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Ostrovsky

On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Russian writer Alexander Nikolayevich Ostrovsky, the specialists of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Akhmet-Zaki Validi National Library of Republic of Bashkortostan, prepared a virtual exhibition "Knight of the Theater - A. Ostrovsky".

The exposition spotlights interesting facts of the biography and the creative path of the playwright. Among the exhibits are materials from the Presidential Library and, in particular, the collection Alexander Ostrovsky (1823–1886), which includes official documents, abstracts of dissertations, collections of articles, periodicals, research and visual materials.

According to the organizers, the virtual exhibition will be of particular interest to philologists, students, schoolchildren and admirers of Alexander Nikolayevich's oeuvre.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Republic of Bashkortostan: Pages of History. It includes studies, essays, archival documents, statistical, cartographic and audiovisual materials covering various aspects of the development of the region in the 18th-21st centuries.
