Historical ball held at the Presidential Library
On April 27, 2023 a ball organized by the Presidential Library and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia took place in the historical building of the Synod. Students of the MGIMO Gorchakov Lyceum, Gazprom School of St. Petersburg and students of Peter the Great Polytechnic University attended the event. The composition of the participants is not accidental: the followers of the tradition of the Russian ball, who support and develop historical dance clubs in their educational institutions brought together in the Hall of Columns of the Presidential Library.
Director General of the Presidential Library Yuri Nosov addressed the audience with a greeting. He noted the importance of preserving and continuing historical traditions and thanked performance groups. The response speech was made by students - leaders of school self-government: Karina Rusyaeva - on behalf of the MGIMO Gorchakov Lyceum - and Vladimir Gustov - on behalf of Gazprom School St. Petersburg.
The ball was accompanied by the musical accompaniment of the Auer Quartet, a laureate of international and all-Russian contests. The ensemble is named after the founder of the Russian violin school, Leopold Auer.
Nine classical dances were performed to the accompaniment of a string quartet. The idea of respect for history became the program’s leading motive. According to Yuri Nosov, the ball held today at the Presidential Library, will become a tradition.
