Penza schoolchildren took part in a military and historical quest

On the eve of Victory Day the specialists of the Lermontov Penza Regional Library held a military and historical quest "The Front Way-Path" for senior pupils of school № 68, as well as lyceums № 29 and № 73.

At the event the guys recalled the significant events of the Great Patriotic War: the breaking of the siege of Leningrad, the defeat of the Nazi troops by the Soviet troops in the Battle of Stalingrad, the battle on the Kursk Bulge.

The materials of the electronic collections of the Presidential Library helped students to cope with some tasks of the intellectual game. For example, such as the documentary The Next Target is Stalingrad and the collection The Action of the Navy Fighter Aviation (1942).

Some questions of the quest were about the museums exhibits in honor of the Great Patriotic War. At this stage, the guys used virtual tours of the expositions as well as the skills of quick Internet navigation. According to the organizers, the students were most interested in the tour, where they had to guess the names of the songs according to the history of their creation.

The team of the Penza Financial and Economic Lyceum № 29 became the winner of the intellectual game. The rest of the participants also received certificates for the successful completion of the quest.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Penza Region: Pages of History. It includes archival documents, essays, studies, statistical and other materials that spotlight various aspects of the development of the region in different historical periods.
