Concert dedicated to Victory Day at the Presidential Library was broadcasted on the St. Petersburg channel

On May 21 at 21.00 the St. Petersburg TV channel was air a TV version of the Victory Day gala concert which took place at the Presidential Library on May 10, 2023.

The concert of the Palaces of St. Petersburg Festival, which featured the world premiere of the cantata The Whole Globe Under Your Feet and the performance of the Sretensky Monastery Choir, has been organized with great success in the Library's Column Hall.

During the performance of the cantata by the St. Petersburg composer Viktor Sobolev, a large-scale musical picture unfolded on the stage, which involved the symphony orchestra, choir, ensembles, soloists of the Mariinsky Theater as well as the reader. The guests of the concert heard beautiful melodies filled with lyricism, close to our classical composing school, as well as the heartfelt lines of the famous poet Stepan Shchipachev which were performed by BDT actor Alexei Falileev.

Songs of the war years, as well as works from war films, were performed by the soloists of the Sretensky Monastery Choir. Smuglyanka, On the Nameless Height, Dark is the Night and other favorite songs, touching everyone, sounded in a unique interpretation of one of the most significant choirs in Russia.

The concerts united Sretensky Monastery Choir; State Symphony Orchestra of Leningrad Region, conductor Mikhail Golikov; Concert Choir of the N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory, conducted by Sergei Yekimov; Anna Kiknadze (mezzo-soprano, Mariinsky Theatre); Viktor Korotich (baritone, Mariinsky Theatre), Alexei Falileev (BDT and film actor).

The event has been implemented with the support of the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg.
