Penza schoolchildren introduced to the history of Slavic writing

Specialists of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Lermontov Penza Regional Library organized the “Say good things” quest for students of schools № 78 and 79.

The event presented digitized materials from the Presidential Library’s collections. Among them are publications such as Saints Constantine and Methodius, Slavic Primal Teachers (1885) and Illustrated General History of Letters (1903). The children were also shown Karion Istomin's Primer (1694) with engravings by Leonty Bunin. The publication was the best textbook of its time.

The winning team was awarded a diploma on the successful completion of the intellectual game. The rest of the participants of the quest received corresponding certificates.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Penza Region: Pages of History. It includes archival documents, essays, studies, statistical and other materials covering various aspects of the development of the region in different historical periods.
