The Presidential Library joins the International Professional Forum

The VII International Professional Forum Book. Culture. Education. Innovations (“Sochi-2023”) is taking place from May 27 to June 3, 2023. Participation in such a major event has already become a tradition for the Presidential Library.

The forum’s state opening ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Council of the Federal Territory Sirius, head of Talent and Success Educational Foundation Elena Shmeleva, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Seventh International Professional Forum Sochi- 2023 Svetlana Zhurova, President of the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization Grigory Ivliev, Minister of Culture of Republic of Crimea Tatyana Manezhina, Minister of Culture of Republic of Abkhazia Daur Kove.

According to Director General of the Presidential Library Yuri Nosov, the topic of the forum Libraries as an Important Unit of the Digital Society is very relevant. Today, digital technologies enter all spheres of life as the Presidential Library is completely digital. Over 14 years of its activity the library has gained considerable experience in the formation and development of a modern digital environment, the digital transformation of education and the support of fundamental science in the new conditions.

International Professional Forum Book. Culture. Education. Innovations is a venue for business meetings and innovative platforms, establishing and strengthening professional contacts, discussing projects of joint work at the state and international levels for specialists and heads of institutions of science, culture and education. It is aimed at developing and supporting the information society and modern technologies, strengthening interregional ties, as well as highlighting the latest achievements and innovations in the development of library and information infrastructure.

One of the constant main themes is the use of modern computer technologies in order to improve information services for the population. The Presidential Library’s specialists actively join the forum events sharing their experience in the main areas of the institution's activities.

This year, meetings of the delegation of the Presidential Library with the Minister of Culture of Republic of Abkhazia Daur Kove and Director of the I. G. Papaskir National Library of Republic of Abkhazia Boris Cholariya will be held at the event.

The Presidential Library actively cooperates with Krasnodar Territory. 11 remote access centers to the resources of the Presidential Library have been opened in the region, including the Pushkin Krasnodar Regional Universal Scientific Library.

The institution’s portal contains electronic collections: Krasnodar Territory: Pages of History containing research, essays, archival materials and photographs that spotlight the geographical, ethnographic, socio-economic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of Krasnodar Territory of the period of the late XVII - the first third XX century, the current Charter of Krasnodar Territory as well as the collection History of Sochi in Postcards and Photographs which includes 110 photographs. Thanks to them, one can see how the city has changed throughout its history.
