St. Petersburg celebrated its 320th foundation anniversary

The solemn flower-laying ceremony was held at the monument to Peter the Great, the Bronze Horseman, on May 27, 2023 on the Day of the Foundation of St. Petersburg.

The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Northwestern Federal District Alexander Gutsan, Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov and members of the Government of St. Petersburg, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Alexander Belsky, senators of the Russian Federation, deputies of the State Duma, deputies of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, judges of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, honorary citizens of St. Petersburg, Commander-in-Chief of the Navy Nikolai Yevmenov, Acting Commander of the Western Military District Sergei Ryumshin, representatives of law enforcement and judicial bodies, religious denominations and public organizations and other guests of honor.

The event was attended by Director General of the Presidential Library Yuri Nosov.

The ceremony ended with a solemn march along the Admiralty Embankment by a company of the Guard of Honor of the Western Military District.

Honoring the new honorary citizens of St. Petersburg took place at the Mariinsky Palace. The holiday ended with the concert "Classic Music on Palace Square".
