A media forum held in Egypt in conjunction with the Russia–Africa summit

On June 11, 2023, the first media forum The Status of the Egyptian and African Media in the Perspective of the Changing Global Media was held at the Russian House in Cairo. The event was held in conjunction with the second Russia–Africa Summit, due to take place on July 26-29 in St. Petersburg.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Egypt, journalists of leading media outlets, representatives of public organizations and academia.

Prospects for media cooperation were discussed. The guests of the meeting were also introduced to the first pan-African social network One Africa, which has more than 650 thousand subscribers.

The centre of remote access to the Presidential Library’s information resources, opened in 2022 on the basis of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in Cairo, today allows guests of the Russian House to explore all the variety of collections of the library’s electronic holdings.

Visitors to the Russian House will be interested in the collection Russian Language from the electronic holdings of the institution. It includes over 1,100 depository items of rare archival documents, including manuscripts, monuments of Russian writing, archival cases, scientific works, dictionaries, reference books, textbooks, and much more.

Guests of the Russian House also have an opportunity to study the materials on the history of relations between Russia and Egypt, which are presented in the electronic collection of the Presidential Library Russia – Egypt: the History of Relations.
