
The Presidential Library and the Government of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra develop cooperation
On June 14, 2023, within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Presidential Library subordinate to the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation and the Government of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra signed a plan of joint measures to use the information and educational potential of the library in the region for 2023-2025. The signing of the agreement took place in the presence of Sergey Grinevich, Head of the Department of Information and Communication Technologies of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation.
The document was signed by Yuri Nosov, Director General of the Presidential Library, and Natalia Komarova, Governor of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra.
Sergey Grinevich, Head of the Department of Information and Communication Technologies of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, stressed that the signed document is aimed at forming a unified information space in the field of the history of Russian statehood.
As Yuri Nosov, Director General of the Presidential Library, noted, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra “is the first region with which we have signed a plan of joint activities to use the information and educational potential of the Presidential Library. We are certain that we have many new significant projects ahead of us”.
Natalia Komarova, Governor of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra, in turn, stressed the dynamism of the development of partnership relations between the region and the Presidential Library. According to her, “several joint projects were considered at the international IT forum held in Yugra in early June”.
“To date, part of the documents about Yugra that have historical value for a wide range of users has already been handed over to the Presidential Library’s collections. It is extremely important for us, in connection with the preparation for the centenary of the region, to promote historical data as much as possible, as well as to provide our teachers and specialists with the opportunity to use the library’s rich archives for their scientific research”, Natalia Komarova said.
The document signed within the framework of the SPIEF stipulates that one of the activities will be the dissemination in educational organizations and cultural institutions of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra and the city of Makeyevka of the Donetsk People’s Republic (within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the city and the government of the Autonomous Area) of successful practices on the use of information resources of the Presidential Library. Among the projects is the promotion of information about the complex of digitized archival film and photo materials on World War II.
The Presidential Library has committed itself to information support of key events in the field of education, culture and youth policy of the region.
Remote access centers to the Presidential Library’s information resources will also be opened in social institutions of the city of Makeyevka, Donetsk People’s Republic.
It is planned to develop partnership cooperation with archives, libraries, museums in order to present information about Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra in the Presidential Library’s collections, including the materials on the activities of local government bodies, prominent state and public figures, and the role of the region in the Great Patriotic War.
The signed action plan was a continuation of many years of cooperation. Thus, in 2013, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Presidential Library and the government of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra. In 2014, an agreement was signed with the Yugra State Library. In the same year, a remote access centre to the Presidential Library’s collections was opened on its basis, and the Regional Centre of the Presidential Library was inaugurated in 2016. To date, there are 115 remote access centers to the resources of the Presidential Library in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra.
