The Presidential Library and Uchitelskaya Gazeta Publishing House develop partnership

On June 14, 2023, a cooperation agreement between the Presidential Library subordinate to the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation and the Uchitelskaya Gazeta Publishing House was signed within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. This event was a continuation of the established partnership between the parties in the implementation of educational projects.

The ceremony took place at the Presidential Library. The document was signed by Yuri Nosov, Director General of the Presidential Library, and Valery Gundarev, Director General of the Uchitelskaya Gazeta Publishing House.

“The partnership of the organizations will be aimed at preserving the historical, cultural and scientific heritage of Russia, mutual use of resources on the history of Russian statehood, as well as on the issues of the Russian language”, said Sergey Grinevich, Head of the Information and Communication Technologies Department of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, who was present at the signing ceremony.

According to Yuri Nosov, Director General of the Presidential Library, further work on the implementation of socially significant projects and joint events is planned within the framework of the agreement. In addition, printed and electronic editions of Uchitelskaya Gazeta will be handed over to the Presidential Library’s collections.

Valery Gundarev, Director General of the Uchitelskaya Gazeta Publishing House, noted that Uchitelskaya Gazeta will be presented in the Presidential Library in electronic form, and all schoolchildren and teachers will be able to access it. These are publications from 1924 to the present.

The audience was greeted by Pyotr Polozhevets, Executive Director of the Sberbank Charitable Foundation Contribution to the Future, who headed the Uchitelskaya Gazeta Publishing House for 28 years. He pointed out that Uchitelskaya Gazeta will be 100 years old next year. “Everything that Uchitelskaya Gazeta will do together with the Presidential Library will help our children become more successful in life, perceive their path more consciously, define their goals more concretely and feel like patriots of our country”, he stressed.

It should be noted that this year, declared the Year of Teachers and Mentors, the online publication Uchitelskaya Gazeta together with the Academy of the Ministry of Education of Russia is a partner of the competition of pedagogical projects The Future of the Fatherland in the Hands of a Teacher, which is held by the Presidential Library from March 20 to December 15, 2023. The main purpose of the event is to identify successful pedagogical practices and reveal the possibilities of the Presidential Library’s electronic collections for use in the educational process.
