The marathon "Great Victory Day!" completed in the branch of the Presidential Library in Tyumen Region

From May 3 to June 27, 2023, a marathon of practice-oriented lessons dedicated to World War II and Victory Day was held at the Branch of the Presidential Library in Tyumen Region for schoolchildren of Tyumen and the Tyumen municipal district.

All schoolchildren were given the opportunity to deal with the Presidential Library’s electronic reading room. The guys opened and looked at such documents as A. Hitler's Directive № 21 Operation Barbarossa and Draft speech of the Deputy Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR and People's Commissar for Foreign Affairs of the USSR V. M. Molotov on the radio in connection with the attack of Nazi Germany on the Soviet Union.

At the lessons, the pupils examined the collection Memory of the Great Victory, the section Fatherland Defenders and watched the film Lyudmila Mikhailovna Pavlichenko, 1916-1974, which tells about the sniper of the 25th Chapaev Rifle Division of the Red Army - Hero of the Soviet Union, which struck 309 Nazi invaders.

Children in the film Letters from the Front told family stories about the participants in the Great Patriotic War to Tyumen pupils where one can hear the story of the granddaughter of Trans-Urals resident Yakov Ignatievich Korotovskikh, a native of Kurgan Region, who served as a tanker throughout the war.

316 schoolchildren of Tyumen Region joined the project. During the marathon, the children were able not only to get information about the Presidential Library, to learn about its resources, but also to develop skills in working in an electronic reading room, as well as highlight the most significant sections about World War II and the Great Patriotic War.
