Training workshop of the Presidential Library for teachers of Zavodoukovsk

On September 25, 2023, specialists of the Presidential Library conducted a training workshop via video conferencing for teachers of educational organizations of the Zavodoukovsky urban district of Tyumen Region.

During the event, Alexey Voronovich, deputy director of the department for scientific and educational work - head of the department of scientific examination of the Presidential Library’s collections, teacher of history and social studies, candidate of historical sciences, spoke. He spoke about the prospects for using the information resources of the Presidential Library in the educational process.

Thus, teachers from educational institutions in Zavodoukovsk learned about the new project “Presidential Library for Teachers: Teaching Using Primary Sources” which is designed to provide teachers with methodological assistance. The lesson scenarios in humanities subjects presented within the framework of the project were based on the information resources of the Presidential Library, including research, journalism, archival documents, visual and cartographic materials.

Alexey Voronovich spoke about educational projects based on the use of information resources of the Presidential Library. Among them are the “Russia in the Electronic World” Olympiad for schoolchildren, video lectures, multimedia lessons, and so on.

Special attention was paid to the Collection of digitized archival documents, photo and video materials World War II in Archival Documents. The organizers of this project are the Federal Archive Agency (Rosarkhiv), the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation and the Presidential Library. At the moment, the Collection contains more than 11 thousand materials: maps, diagrams, periodicals, photographs, newsreels for the period from January 1933 to November 1942.

Alexey Voronovich also shared his successful experience of including the information resources of the Presidential Library in unified history textbooks, according to which senior pupils began to study the history of Russia and world history in the new academic year. The Presidential Library became the only library which Internet links (QR-codes) to information resources were included in these educational publications. Links are directed to thematic electronic collections, the total volume of which is more than 15 thousand depository items.
