29 September 2023

On September 29, 2023, in Yekaterinburg, as part of the plenary session of the X All-Russian annual retreat of the heads of regional centers and partners of the Presidential Library, the grand opening of a remote electronic reading room took place at the Institute for Educational Development of Sverdlovsk Region.

Director General of the Presidential Library Yuri Nosov noted: “This is a very significant event. Now specialists from the regional institute have full access to our collections, which volume currently exceeds a million depository items. Books and periodicals, newsreels, photographs, scientific and educational films, abstracts of dissertations, archival documents and materials on the history of Russian statehood are digitally available”. He expressed confidence that the information potential of the Presidential Library access center will contribute to the successful implementation of scientific and educational activities of the institute’s staff and Sverdlovsk teachers.

The Presidential Library has long-term cooperation with the Ural Federal District. Since 2011, a branch of the Presidential Library has been successfully opened at the Mendeleev Tyumen Regional Scientific Library. Today, the federal district contains over 500 remote access centers to the information resources of the Presidential Library in cultural and educational institutions - this is a third part of all centers for remote electronic reading rooms in Russia.
