The Presidential Library and the Ruwiki online encyclopedia signed a cooperation agreement

The Presidential Library and Ruwiki online encyclopedia entered into a cooperation agreement. The document was signed by Director General of the Presidential Library, Yuri Nosov, and Director General of the online encyclopedia Ruwiki, Vladimir Medeyko.

The event took place within the framework of the International Conference of Librarians of the CIS Countries “Cultural Diversity of the Commonwealth: Library Initiatives”, which took place at the Presidential Library.

“Partnership agreements provide for long-term interaction to expand the knowledge of Internet users in the field of history, theory and practice of Russian statehood, as well as the Russian language as the state language of the Russian Federation by providing readers of the Ruwiki online encyclopedia with access to electronic copies of documents from the collections of the Presidential Library”, - said Director General of the Presidential Library Yuri Nosov.

The Presidential Library's collections digitally contain books and periodicals, newsreels, photographs, scientific and educational films, abstracts of dissertations, archival documents and materials reflecting the history of Russia, economic and diplomatic relations between Russia and other countries in different historical periods. The volume of the electronic collection of the Presidential Library is more than a million depository items.

In turn, Director General of the Ruwiki online encyclopedia Vladimir Medeyko noted: “It is a great honor for us to cooperate with the Presidential Library. Thanks to our partnership, Ruwiki readers will be able to access unique documents and expand their knowledge from professional and impeccable information sources. One of the most important and strategic tasks of the encyclopedia is to strengthen the expert community and ensure the reliability of the materials presented on the server”.

Ruwiki is a new open online encyclopedia. The platform brings together experts and ordinary users: anyone can become the author of Ruwiki, but only professionals act as guarantors of verification of materials.
