The Presidential Library provides a new multimedia lesson
On October 12, 2023, the Presidential Library was launching a new multimedia lesson for senior pupils “Satire in the Service of Victory: Caricature during the Great Patriotic War” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victorious end of the Battle of Stalingrad.
During the lesson, caricature is considered as an artistic genre, a tool of political propaganda, a serious weapon that can turn the terrible into the funny, and raise the morale of soldiers, home front workers and ordinary citizens.
The Presidential Library regularly hosts interactive lessons on a variety of topics. Detailed information about them is available on the institution’s portal in the Multimedia Lessons section. Classes are held free of charge upon prior request. Detailed information about the project and application form for participation in multimedia lessons is available by calling +7 (812) 305-16-51 or emailing cep@prlib.ru.
It is possible to learn about the topic of cartoons during the war by taking a virtual tour of the exhibition dedicated to Boris Efimov, one of the most famous and popular cartoonists in the world, on the Presidential Library’s portal. A series of his anti-fascist drawings made a great contribution to the victory over Nazi Germany. The virtual tour gives the opportunity to look at the image of the enemy through the eyes of a cartoonist.
