The Presidential Library summed up the results of the contest of students’ works

The Presidential Library summed up the results of the contest of the students’ works, which took place from March 10 to June 30, 2023. Courseworks, final qualification papers, articles, reports and other research materials were accepted. The jury evaluated them in three categories. Participants could submit no more than one work in each of them.

First place in the nomination “Best final qualifying/thesis work using the Presidential Library's electronic collections” was shared by representatives of Tver State University Sergey Tarasov and Nikolay Aglyamov.

Valentin Terentyev, a student at the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, and Anastasia Gavrilova, a student at the St. Petersburg State Economic University, were recognized as the best in the nomination “Best course work using the Presidential Library's electronic collections”.

The works of Alena Dushkova and Anna Ruban from the Saratov State Law Academy, as well as Ilya Kholmov from Kostroma State University, became the best in the category “Best research work using the Presidential Library’s electronic collections”.

The main condition for participation in the contest was the mandatory use of sources from the electronic collection of the Presidential Library, numbering more than a million depository items. These are book publications, archival documents, periodicals, photo, audio and video materials in various disciplines, including Russian history, law, Russian language, geography, art history and many other areas.

Among the main objectives of the contest are to attract attention to the history of Russian statehood, culture and the Russian language, and to develop students’ skills in conducting scientific research using archival documents and other materials from the Presidential Library’s electronic collections.

The Presidential Library regularly holds contests and Olympiads for schoolchildren and students. Russia in the Electronic World Olympiad in history, social studies and the Russian language was launched on September 20, 2023.
