Virtual and real football brings together youth of the CIS countries
On October 18, 2023 specialists of the Presidential Library attended the International inclusive duathlon tournament in interactive and classic football among the CIS countries for children, teenagers and youth with unlimited capabilities. The event was held in Moscow at the CSKA indoor track and field football complex and brought together more than 100 athletes, most of whom had health limitations.
As part of the event, the Presidential Library presented at its stand materials from the collection dedicated to the history of the development of football. In addition, participants and guests of the football duathlon tournament were able to learn about the major section of the library’s electronic collections Russia and the Countries of the World which features digital collections dedicated to various countries, including the CIS member states. The collections contain studies, essays, archival documents and other materials that introduce the geography, economics, social and cultural development of the territories, and also tell about the history of relations with Russia.
The football duathlon tournament is organized by the autonomous non-profit organization for the development of progressive technologies and e-sports in the inclusive society “Unique World” with the support of the Russian Computer Sports Federation, the Russian Football Union and the Russian Paralympic Committee. The event was attended by Advisor on Economic Affairs to the Chairman of the Executive Committee - Executive Secretary of the CIS, Chairman of the Coordination Council of the CIS Financial and Banking Council Anatoly Kazakov, deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Leonid Ogul, Nikolay Novichkov, Sergey Burlakov, Director of the Reserve Center of the Presidential Library Denis Cheremisin, representatives of public and private structures of the Commonwealth countries.
The main objectives of the tournament are to promote football and e-sports on the international stage, as well as to attract public attention to the problems of children with disabilities. The tournament is held with the aim of developing and strengthening political, economic, trade, cultural, educational and humanitarian relations between the Russian Federation and the CIS member states.
The Presidential Library is a regular participant in socially significant events at the regional and international level and is open to developing partnerships.
