The Presidential Library shares experience with colleagues from Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)

From November 20-23, 2023, the Presidential Library implements training for representatives of the cultural and educational system of Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in an additional professional educational program for advanced training “Innovative approaches in library and information activities using the resources of the Presidential Library that have information and educational potential”.

Attendees of the educational program will master the specifics of working in an electronic reading room, as well as the possibilities of organizing events with the involvement of the library’s collections.

The interaction of the Presidential Library with Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is actively developing. In September 2023, within the framework of the VIII Eastern Economic Forum, a cooperation agreement was signed between Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Presidential Library, subordinate to the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation. The document was signed by the head of Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolaev and Director General of the Presidential Library Yuri Nosov. The parties agreed to join efforts to form a single information space that would strengthen patriotism, spiritual and moral values, preserve historical memory, and counter the falsification of history. Today 34 remote reading rooms of the Presidential Library are available in Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Two remote access centers to library resources have been opened in the sponsored city of Kirovskoye (DPR). The work of the centers is coordinated by the Nikolaev Center - the library-archive of the first President of Yakutia, Mikhail Efimovich Nikolaev.

For the Presidential Library, interaction with regions is one of the key areas of activity. The digital collections of the Presidential Library contain more than a million depository items. Among them are electronic copies of printed and archival materials, audio and video recordings, theses and other documents that spotlight the centuries-old history of Russian statehood, the theory and practice of law, as well as the Russian language as the state language of Russia. Regional electronic collections, which present materials about the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, occupy a special place in the Presidential Library’s collections.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Republic of Sakha (Yakutia): Pages of History, which includes studies, essays, reference and archival materials covering the history of the development of the modern territory of Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) - the largest subject of the Russian Federation, and individual aspects development of the region from the 18th to the mid-20th century.
