
The Presidential Library and the St. Petersburg city branch of the All-Russian Society for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments develop cooperation
On November 21, 2023 the Presidential Library, subordinate to the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, and the St. Petersburg city branch of the All-Russian Society for the Preservation of Historical and Cultural Monuments will sign a cooperation agreement. The document provides for the formation of a unified information space of knowledge in the field of history, theory and practice of Russian statehood and the Russian language.
“Joint projects are aimed at preserving and promoting historical and cultural heritage. Particular attention will be paid to spiritual, moral and civil-patriotic education, the implementation of joint scientific, educational and educational projects”, - noted Director General of the Presidential Library Yuri Nosov.
Chairman of the Council of the St. Petersburg City Branch of the All-Russian Society for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments Anton Ivanov emphasized that the signed agreement would give new impetus to long-term cooperation. Both organizations are interested in establishing information and interlibrary cooperation, and in holding joint cultural and educational events. As part of the agreement, it is planned to open a remote access center to the resources of the Presidential Library at the St. Petersburg city branch of the All-Russian Society for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments. Its visitors will be able to learn about the entire variety of collections of the library’s electronic holdings, which contain more than a million digitized copies of documents and materials on the history of Russia.
An important area of cooperation will be the formation and replenishment of electronic collections of institutions, the organization of exhibition projects, scientific conferences, workshops and video lectures, as well as holding tours within the framework of the cultural and educational project “Open City”.
The Presidential Library is the largest multifunctional information, scientific, educational and cultural center. The library's electronic collections include books and periodicals, newsreels, photographs, scientific and educational films, theses, archival documents and materials spotlighting the history of Russian statehood, the theory and practice of law, and the Russian language as the state language of the Russian Federation. More than 1,500 remote access centers to the resources of the Presidential Library have been opened in all regions of Russia and 34 foreign countries.
