The exhibition “Ordinary Nazism” available on the Presidential Library's portal

13 December 2023

The Presidential Library's portal features the materials of the exhibition Ordinary Nazism. Historical documents and photographs were donated to the library by the Moscow Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.

The electronic exhibition is dedicated to the history of the emergence of the Ukrainian version of Nazism from its inception to the present day. Authentic archival documents and photographs illustrate the atrocities of Ukrainian nationalists during the Second World War. The Lviv pogrom, punitive operations against civilians, the Volyn massacre - all these are bloody crimes of Ukrainian Nazism.

After the 2014 coup d'etat, the Ukrainian authorities began to glorify the ideas of nationalist leaders known for their atrocities, actively encouraging the activities of openly Nazi organizations and Russophobic sentiments. All this led to a terrible split in Ukrainian society. The exhibition, based on material evidence, photographs and eyewitness memories, shows the mass crimes and terror of modern neo-Nazis against the inhabitants of Ukraine in 2014–2022.

The Presidential Library pays much attention to preserving historical memory, countering the falsification of history, and strengthening spiritual and moral values.

Numerous materials dedicated to the Great Patriotic War are available in the major collection of the Presidential Library Memory of the Great Victory.
