The Presidential Library's materias about the defence and siege of Leningrad presented in Bashkortostan

On January 24, 2024 the Central City Library of the city of Sterlitamak in Republic of Bashkortostan held a memory lesson “And let generations know...” for pupils of school №4. The event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade.

On January 27, 1944, as a result of the Leningrad-Novgorod strategic offensive operation, Nazi troops near Leningrad were defeated and the 872-day siege of the city was finally lifted.

The event participants learned about the resources of the Presidential Library. Among them: “Leningrad “Victory Road”: how the first train from the mainland came to the besieged city”; Leningradskaya Pravda newspaper dated January 19, 1943; the collection Defence and Siege of Leningrad, which contains historical documents, periodicals, diaries of residents of the undefeated city.

Participants honored the memory of the victims of the siege with a minute of silence.
