9 February 2024

On February 9, 2024, a permanent cooperation agreement was signed between the Presidential Library, subordinate to the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, and the Pushkin All-Russian Museum. The document was signed by the heads of the institutions - Director General of the library Yuri Nosov and the Director of the museum Sergei Nekrasov.

The cooperation agreement is aimed at creating a unified information space in the field of Russian history and the Russian language as the state language of the Russian Federation, to strengthen the ideas of statehood and patriotism in society.

Director General of the Presidential Library Yuri Nosov noted: “The signed agreement opens up new opportunities for cooperation. It is planned to exchange information resources, mutually replenish collections of institutions, and conduct joint cultural and educational events aimed at developing spiritual and moral values. The formation of a digital collection of documents related to the name of the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin will continue”.

The Presidential Library's collections contain a large number of documents and materials dedicated to the life and career of the poet. Some of the materials are available on the library's portal in a separate electronic collection Alexander Pushkin (1799–1837), which includes digital copies of books, articles, archival documents, theses, videos, visual and other materials.

In turn, Director of the Pushkin All-Russian Museum Sergei Nekrasov emphasized that the signing of an agreement between the Presidential Library and the museum is a very important event. It is held on the eve of February 10 - Alexander Pushkin's Memorial Day and on the eve of the 225th anniversary of the poet’s birth, which will be celebrated in June 2024. Sergei Nekrasov also noted that the Presidential Library’s collections contain in digital form the charter of the Imperial Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum, transferred by the Pushkin All-Russian Museum: “The charter of the lyceum is not only an official document, but also a work of art... And moreover, there there is an autograph of Emperor Alexander I”.

Interaction between institutions has been developing since 2015 in many areas of activity. Thus, the Presidential Library annually hosts the conference “Alexander Pushkin's Memorial Day” with the participation of museum specialists, a documentary film was created about the poet’s famous museum-apartment on Moika, 12.

The Presidential Library, which has the status of the national library of Russia, is a national electronic repository of digital copies of the most important documents on the history, theory and practice of Russian statehood, the Russian language, as well as a multifunctional cultural, educational, information and analytical center.
