The exhibition of ancient Russian art held in Syria

27 February 2024

The exhibition “Faces of Russian Icons. Copies of selected masterpieces from the collection of the Andrei Rublev Museum" was opened in the Russian House in Damascus. This became possible thanks to the signed cooperation agreement between the Andrei Rublev Museum and the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Syria.

The unique exhibition introduces works of ancient Russian art from the Middle Ages to modern times. The curator of the exhibition, Ekaterina Baginskaya, told visitors about the history of each icon.

Among the guests at the opening were public and cultural figures, politicians, diplomats, as well as representatives of the media.

The remote access center to information resources of the Presidential Library, opened in 2022 at the Russian House in Damascus, today provides the entire variety of collections of the library’s electronic holdings.
