The lecture in Syria spotlighted masterpieces from the Hermitage collection

The Russian House in Damascus hosted a lecture by a specialist in foreign art and art history, Ekaterina Klochkova, “Masterpieces of the Hermitage”. The event took place within the framework of the “Week of Russian Museums in Syria” project.

Ekaterina Klochkova spoke about the history of the creation of great paintings by domestic and foreign authors that are in the State Hermitage. Listeners learned about the museum’s collections and immersed themselves in foreign art of the 15th–16th centuries, the prominent representatives of which are Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Titian, Giorgione, Rembrandt and others.

The remote access center to information resources of the Presidential Library, opened in 2022 at the Russian House in Damascus, today provides the entire variety of collections of the library’s electronic holdings.

Visitors to the Russian Center for Science and Culture will be interested in the Russian Language collection from the institution’s electronic holdings. It includes more than 1,100 depository items of rare archival documents, including manuscripts, monuments of Russian writing, archival documents, research papers, dictionaries, reference books, teaching aids and much more.

A large number of materials on Russian-Syrian relations are presented in the electronic collection of the Presidential Library Russia – Syria: the History of Relations. It includes research, reference, archival and other materials that spotlight the history of relations between Russia and Syria from the 19th century to the present day.
