The Presidential Library expands its borders in the Middle Urals

16 March 2024

On March 14, 2024, the annual open regional meeting “Presidential Library in the Middle Urals: Expanding Borders” of the Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library was held in Yekaterinburg.

The experience of colleagues from various regions of Russia shows that the resources of the Presidential Library are relevant and in demand in society, and are actively used to create new educational projects.

For the Presidential Library, interaction with regions is one of the key areas of activity. The digital collections of the Presidential Library contain more than a million depository items. These are electronic copies of printed and archival materials, audio and video recordings, abstracts of dissertations and other documents that spotlight the centuries-old history of Russian statehood, the theory and practice of law, as well as the Russian language as the state language of Russia. Regional electronic collections, which present materials about the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, occupy a special place in the Presidential Library’s collections.

The Presidential Library's portal features the collection “Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History”. It includes statistical materials, studies, essays and photographs of the 19th – early 20th centuries, covering various aspects of the development of the region.
