Bashkiria schoolchildren learned about the resources of the Presidential Library

Specialists of the Central Intersettlement Model EthnoSmart Library of the city of Ishimbay, based on the remote access center to the resources of the Presidential Library, organized a library lesson for senior pupils “Resources of the Presidential Library”.

The pupils learned about the history of the library's creation, presented its projects, learned about the portal and its sections. In addition, they were shown how to search for the necessary information.

The meeting participants found out that the Presidential Library has become the only library which links to information resources have been included in new history textbooks for high school students. In addition, students were told about the interactive Olympiad of the Presidential Library "Russia in the electronic world".

Not long ago, a team of young library readers also took part in the interregional online quiz "What do you know about the Arctic". The intellectual game was developed by the Regional Center of the Presidential Library in Komi Republic based on materials from the Presidential Library’s collections.

For the Presidential Library, cooperation with the regions of the country is one of the most important areas of work. The digital collections of the institution contain more than a million depository items. The storage includes electronic copies of printed and archival materials, audio and video recordings, dissertation abstracts and other documents reflecting the long history of Russian statehood, of theory and practice of law, as well as the history of Russian language as the official language of Russia. A special place in the library's collection is occupied by regional electronic collections, which contain materials about the subjects of the Russian Federation.

The Presidential Library’s portal presents the collection "Republic of Bashkortostan: pages of history". It contains information about research, essays, archival documents, statistical, cartographic and audiovisual materials covering various aspects of the development of the region in the XVIII–XXI centuries.
