The Presidential Library's project “The President of the Russian Federation - a guarantor of human rights and freedoms” presented in Tomsk

On March 16, 2024, the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based on the Pushkin Tomsk Regional Universal Scientific Library was visited by 8th grade pupils from school №2. A multimedia lesson “The Main Elections of the Country” was held for the children.

The event participants learned about the Presidential Library, the main activities of the institution, collections of documents, initiatives and contests. Much attention was paid to resources devoted to suffrage and elections, the institution of the presidency in the Russian Federation, as well as the new project of the Presidential Library “The President of the Russian Federation - the guarantor of human rights and freedoms”. 

The Presidential Library's portal features the collection “The Electoral System in Russia: the Past and the Present”. It gives a holistic picture of the history of the formation of suffrage in our state, and also illuminates its current state. The collection includes both historical sources on the topic of suffrage and research works. It includes the following sections: history of the electoral system in Russia, electoral system in modern Russia, educational and methodological resources. It will be useful to students of secondary and higher educational institutions, teachers and professors, as well as historians and lawyers.
