The Presidential Library hosted a methodological workshop “My profile is history. Features and typical errors of performing the Unified State Examination paper in history"

The partnership between the Presidential Library and MGIMO of the Russian Foreign Ministry is of a strategic nature. By developing interest in history, the parties also strive to find new forms of effective teaching of history as a core subject. In this context, on the initiative of the Gorchakov Lyceum of MGIMO and with the methodological support of the Presidential Library, a methodological workshop“My profile is history. Peculiarities and typical errors of performing the Unified State Examination paper” was held. It became possible thanks to the cooperation of the Gorchakov Lyceum MGIMO, the State Public Historical Library and the Presidential Library.

At the workshop, the question was raised about the possibility of using the Presidential Library's collections to prepare for exams, Olympiads, and carry out projects. Also acting Head of the Department of Educational and Educational Programs of the Presidential Library Maxim Gennadievich Terebilov highlighted the areas of current cooperation with the Gorchakov Lyceum of MGIMO. 

The main part of the event was devoted to the problems of completing the second part of the exam, which graduates most often encounter. The lecturers discussed how to avoid unnecessary mistakes and what to pay attention to when preparing. The workshop material is useful for both students and teachers preparing for the Unified State Exam.

The lecturers were Candidate of Historical Sciences, developer of the Unified State Examination in History, employee of the State Public Historical Library, Yan Valerievich Solovyov, and Alexey Nikolaevich Zakharov, a leading expert of the subject commission of the Unified State Examination in Moscow in history, head of the department of social and humanitarian education of the Gorchakov Lyceum MGIMO.

The full-time students were students of the Gorchakov Lyceum MGIMO, planning to take the exam in the near future, as well as their teachers. Representative of the lyceum Anna Aleksandrovna Zakharova noted that one of the key areas of work of the educational organization is the formation of a solid base of historical knowledge and the preservation of the traditions of historical continuity necessary for future diplomats.
