The Presidential Library's Day held in Nikolsky district of Penza Region

On April 12, 2024, in Nikolsky district of Penza Region, specialists from the Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Lermontov Penza Regional Library held the Presidential Library's Day. The event took place at the Intersettlement Central Regional Library, where the remote access center of the Presidential Library has been opened for more than two years.

The workshop “Using the Presidential Library’s resources in serving users and holding public events” was held for colleagues from regional libraries. It was noted that having access to the institution’s portal, specialized specialists supplement their collection with a huge array of digitized publications. In addition, these materials are the basis for preparing multimedia lessons and quizzes, presentations for anniversaries and memorable dates.

Natalya Zakharova, a specialist at the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, reviewed the library’s collections, spoke about the institution’s video lectures and virtual exhibitions, the pedagogical project competition The Future of the Fatherland in the Hands of a Teacher, and the Russia in the Electronic World Olympiad.

Open events with schoolchildren were also held marking the Presidential Library's Day. Thus, the third grade students of school №4 in the city of Nikolsk were shown fragments of newsreels that captured the last minutes before the start of Yuri Gagarin’s flight into space on April 12, 1961. The students were also told about the great Russian scientist, the founder of theoretical cosmonautics, Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky. An intellectual tournament “On the River of Time” was organized for eighth-grade students, the questions of which were related to the history of our country. In the process of completing assignments, senior pupils mastered searching for information on the Presidential Library's portal.

The Presidential Library's portal features the collection Penza Region: Pages of History. It includes archival documents, essays, studies, statistical and other materials covering various aspects of the development of the region in different historical periods.
