The "Pushkin Relay Race of Cities" takes place in Kyrgyzstan

Together with the whole world, Kyrgyzstan is celebrating the 225th anniversary of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin. The Moscow Classics Foundation, with the support of the Russian House in Bishkek, is hosting a traditional "Pushkin Relay Race of Cities" event in the country's schools.

Educational institutions from Kara-Balta, Cholpon-Ata, Shopokov, and the village of Leninskoye have joined the event. As part of the event, students in grades 8-10 were asked questions about the life of Alexander Sergeevich and his work. The students also recited poems by the famous Russian poet. Students from Kara-Balta scored the highest.

On last Sunday, "Pushkin is with us" event was also held in Kara-Balta organized by the public association "Russian World Kara Balta." During the event, students from five schools in the city took part in a quiz, presented theater performances based on the works of Alexander Pushkin, and recited the poet's poems.

The "Pushkin Relay Race of Cities" will continue in June in Issyk-Kul. A drawing contest based on the fairy tales of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin and a reading contest will be held in the city of Cholpon-Ata. Similar educational campaigns are taking place all over the country.

The center for remote access to information resources of the Presidential Library, opened in 2011 based on the Russian House in Bishkek, today allows its guests to get informed with all the variety of collections of the electronic library collections.

Visitors to the Russian Center of Science and Culture will be interested in the collection Russian language from the electronic holdings of the institution.
