Exhibition dedicated to Sergei Witte presented in the Penza Regional Center of the Presidential Library

On June 14, 2024, the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based on the Lermontov Penza Regional Library hosted an exhibition dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the prominent Russian statesman, financier, and diplomat, Sergei Witte, who served as the first Chairman of the Council of Ministers.

Dmitry Murashov, a candidate of historical sciences, shared with visitors the achievements and contributions of Sergei Witte during his time in important government roles.

Additionally, guests were introduced to resources from the Presidential Library that featured works by Sergei Witte as well as monographs and scholarly articles on his impact on Russian development. Of particular interest to attendees was the book Count S. Witte and Emperor Nicholas II, written by V. Vodovozov in 1922.

The staff of the Penza Regional Center of the Presidential Library invited everyone to complete a webquest called Sergei Witte: A Historical Portrait.

On the Presidential Library's portal, there is a collection called State Authority that includes a section on the lives of famous statesmen. This section contains materials about the lives and work of heads of government and other political figures.

Readers can also learn more about the scientific and educational project called Great Russia on the Presidential Library portal. This project covers important historical events and introduces prominent Russian figures from history.
