Presidential Library develops cooperation with institutions of science and culture of Republic of Belarus
On July 18 and 19, 2024, Yuri Nosov, Director General of the Presidential Library of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, made a working visit to scientific and cultural institutions in Republic of Belarus.
On the 18th of July, the Director General met with the Director of the Institute of History at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Vadim Lakiza. They discussed areas of cooperation between their organizations, including the exchange of digital documents, joint events, and the establishment of a remote access center for the resources of the Presidential Library within the Institute of History. It is planned to sign an agreement on cooperation between the two institutions.
On July 19th, Yuri Nosov, the General Director of the Presidential Library of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, had a meeting with Alla Pendo, the Deputy Director for Core Activities at the Presidential Library in Belarus. The two discussed issues related to further cooperation between their organizations. Earlier this year, in April, a cooperation agreement had been signed between them, and a center for remote access to resources from the Presidential Library has been established on the premises of the Belarusian Presidential Library.
On the same day, a grand opening of the Center for Remote Access to Information Resources of the Presidential Library was held at the Belarusian State University, based on the Fundamental Library. Additionally, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Presidential Library and Belarusian State University. Yury Nosov, General Director of the Library, and Viktor Kochin, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalization of Education at the University, signed the document.
The Presidential Library subordinates to the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation and is the first electronic national library of Russia. The Presidential Library's collections digitally include books and periodicals, newsreels, photographs, scientific and educational films, dissertation abstracts, archival documents and materials that spotlight the history of Russian statehood, the theory and practice of law, and the Russian language as the state language of the Russian Federation.
The Presidential Library’s portal features the electronic collection Russia – Belarus: the History of Relations which includes official documents and archival materials, research on Russian-Belarusian interaction.
