Remote Access Center of the Presidential Library opened at Belarusian State University
On July 19th, 2024, the grand opening of the Remote Access Center to Information Resources of the Presidential Library of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation was held at the Belarusian State University based on the Fundamental Library.
In his welcoming speech, Yuri Nosov, Director General of the library, noted that teachers and students now have full access to the Presidential Library's collection, which currently contains more than a million items.
Also, on this day, an agreement was signed between the Presidential Library and Belarusian State University regarding cooperation. The document was signed by Yuri Nosov, Director General of the Library, and Viktor Kochin, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalization of Education at the University.
Within the framework of the agreement, two institutions plan to preserve and promote the historical, scientific, and cultural heritage of Russia and Belarus. They will exchange digital copies of documents and use information resources together. Joint eventa are also scheduled.
On the portal of the Presidential Library, the electronic collection Russia - Belarus: the History of Relationsis available. It includes official documents, archival records, maps, and photographs that illustrate the history of cooperation between our two countries.
The Presidential Library has been actively developing cooperation with institutions of Republic of Belarus since 2010. During this time, remote electronic reading rooms have been opened throughout the republic, providing access to the resources of the Presidential Library. They are based on Russian houses in Minsk, Brest, Gomel, as well as the National Historical Archive of Belarus, the Academy of Management under the President of Republic of Belarus, the Minsk Theological Academy, the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Nesvizh", the Minsk Theological Seminary, leading libraries of the Republic of Belarus – Pushkin Minsk Regional Library, Gorky Brest Regional Library, Lenin Vitebsk Regional Library, Lenin Mogilev Regional Library, Orsha Centralized Library System, Yanka KupalaCentral Library, Slutsk District Central Library. In addition, since 2019, the Presidential Library has opened an access center to the information retrieval system “ETALON-ONLINE”, developed by the Belarusian National Center for Legal Information.
The staff of the Presidential Library, in collaboration with their Belarusian counterparts, regularly participate in major international events and share experiences.

The Presidential Library is under the jurisdiction of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation and is the first electronic national library of Russia.
The library is located in the center of St. Petersburg, in the historical building of the Holy Synod, built in the second quarter of the 19th century according to the design of the outstanding architect Carlo Rossi, and is the largest multifunctional information, scientific, cultural and educational center.
The Presidential Library's collections digitally include books and periodicals, newsreels, photographs, scientific and educational films, dissertation abstracts, archival documents and materials that spotlight the history of Russian statehood, the theory and practice of law, and the Russian language as the state language of the Russian Federation. The volume of the electronic collections is more than a million depository items.
The status and equipment of the Presidential Library make it possible to regularly hold events of various levels and formats - official meetings of government and public figures of Russia and foreign countries, forums, conferences, round tables, concerts, film screenings, presentations, exhibitions.
Specially equipped premises are intended for their organization - a columned hall, a transformable multimedia complex, a meeting room, exhibition halls and others.
