Literary Saloon in honor of Vasily Shukshin's 95th anniversary held in Tajikistan
A Literary Saloon dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Soviet actor, director, screenwriter and writer Vasily Shukshin, who was honored with the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR, was held at the Russian House in Khujand. The event was attended by high school students from Sughd region of Tajikistan.
During the event, young people were told about Shukshin's life and work, as well as his small homeland - Altai Territory. They also learned about significant events in his life. At the end of the program, students were shown fragments from the film "Kalina Krasnaya", in which Shukshin played the main role and also acted as screenwriter and director.
The Center for Remote Access to Information Resources of the Presidential Library, which was opened in 2011 at the Russian House in Dushanbe, allows its guests today to explore the wide variety of collections in the electronic library's collection.
Guests of the Russian Center for Science and Culture may find the Russian Language collection from the Presidential Library's electronic collection particularly interesting. This collection includes more than 1,100 rare archival documents, such as manuscripts, historical documents, archives, scientific works, dictionaries, reference books, and textbooks.
Guests of the Russian House can also explore the collection of the Presidential Library titled Tajikistan: Geography, Ethnography, History. This collection includes geographical sketches and ethnographic studies from the period when Tajikistan became part of the Russian Empire. It also contains photographs and newsreels from the Pamir expeditions of the 1920s and 1930s.
