1 August 2024

On August 1st, 2024, experts from the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based on the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Science Library, unveiled an exhibition dedicated to the history of the Russian national flag.

This exhibition showcases the resources of the Presidential Library's portal, which houses some of the most valuable collections of documents that trace the history of our country from ancient times up to the present day. Visitors can explore materials related to the history of Russia's national flag, including those featured in the Symbols of State Authority section of the State Authority collection.

On the portal of the Presidential Library, readers can watch a video lecture by Gleb Kalashnikov, a Candidate of Historical Sciences and Executive Secretary of the Heraldic Council under the President of the Russian Federation, entitled The National Flag of Russia. The video lecture The colors of Russian National Flag (1910) is particularly noteworthy. The lecture presents materials from a special meeting convened by the Ministry of Justice to address the issue of the country's state national colors.

Additionally, the portal offers access to the collection Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History, which includes statistical materials, research papers, essays, and photographs from the 19th and early 20th centuries. These materials provide insights into various aspects of the region's development.
