Ryazan Regional Center of Presidential Library hosted library lesson dedicated to Fyodor Poletayev
On August 14, 2024, the specialists of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based on the Gorky Ryazan Regional Universal Scientific Library, hosted a library lesson dedicated to Fyodor Poletayev, a Hero of the Soviet Union and a participant in the Great Patriotic War. The event was timed to coincide with the 115th anniversary of Poletayev's birth and was attended by pupils from the Ryazan children's camps "Smena" and "Skazka" as part of the Patriot School project.
During the event, children learned about the life and heroic deeds of this Russian soldier, who was born in Ryazan. The presentation included photos of Poletayev himself and his family, adding to the atmosphere of the event.
The library lesson ended with a quiz, where the children had to demonstrate their knowledge of the history of the Great Patriotic War and the biography of Fyodor Poletayev. The quiz also included questions about the facts from the Presidential Library's collection.
According to the organizers, they will continue the cycle of library lessons to help foster patriotic awareness among the younger generation. The Presidential Library collection Ryazan Region: Pages of History is available online and includes archival documents, research papers, essays, statistics, references, maps, and audio-visual materials that cover various aspects of the region's history.
