
Presidential Library marks the Day of Knowledge. Educational and enlightment projects for teachers and students presented on Portal
Knowledge Day is an annual celebration on September 1st, established by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1984.
During this time, the library's collection and online platform offer a wealth of resources for educational purposes. The Presidential Library's portal has a special section for teachers, titled Presidential Library for Teachers: Teaching with Primary Sources. This section provides teachers with information on how to use the library's resources in teaching, as well as information about the library's main activities in education and outreach.
In addition, the Presidential Library has prepared video tutorials on the history of World War II, in collaboration with the Gorchakov Lyceum of MGIMO, whichare available on the portal.
In addition to this, there is a section for teachers that contains collections of documents. Links to these collections are included in the unified history textbook for high school students. These collections contain more than 15 thousand documents and materials related to the history of our country. Team of creators is also working on including QR codes (links) to library resources in the new textbooks "History of Our Region" for grades 5-7.
Since 2023, the Presidential Library has been hosting an annual competition for pedagogical projects called The Future of the Fatherland in the Hands of a Teacher. The competition is organized by the Presidential Library in collaboration with the State University of Education, and its goal is to identify successful teaching practices and explore the potential of the electronic resources of the Presidential Library for educational purposes.
The Presidential Library's portal presents the Great Russia project, which aims to preserve national memory and promote patriotism by celebrating the great history, culture, and scientific achievements of Russia. This project focuses on world-renowned writers, poets, composers, musicians, artists, scientists, architects, inventors, engineers, cosmonauts, and teachers who have significantly contributed to the development of both Russian and global science and culture.
For schoolchildren, the Presidential Library has an educational project called Gosudarika. This project includes the main sources of information on the history of Russian statehood and the Russian language, which is the state language of the Russian Federation. All materials are organized into sections such as State Authority, The Russian People, Territory of Russia, and Russian Language and Others. The Gosudarika portal also has other interesting sections, such as State Symbols, Constitution of Russia, and Presidential Chronicle.
The Presidential Library's website has a 24-hour TV channel that broadcasts films, video lectures prepared by the library, and videos from leading domestic film and television studios. During the school year, video lectures are shown to students, covering topics that complement the school curriculum.
The video lecture Knowledge of Russia covers the main directions of the Presidential Library's collection: the history of the Russian state and law, and the importance of Russian as the official language of the Russian Federation. Experts from scientific and educational institutions in Moscow and other Russian cities give lectures on these topics.
In the section Video Lecture for School, recordings of multimedia master classes on humanities for students from secondary schools, gymnasiums, and lyceums can be found.
Multimedia lessons also help make the learning experience more interesting, interactive, and as productive as possible. This educational project of the Presidential Library aims to reinforce the knowledge gained in school.
Virtual exhibitions are presented on the portal separately. This section includes thematic exhibitions dedicated to significant anniversaries and relevant issues in the history of Russian statehood. Partners of the exhibitions include archives, museums, libraries, universities, and cultural centers.
The Presidential Library not only provides knowledge, but also allows its users to put it into practice. The annual Olympiad on history, social studies, the Russian language, and Russian as a foreign language for high school students is held at the Presidential Library.
Children who have already finished school and continue their studies in higher education can participate in a contest for student papers using the library's information resources.
