Presidential Library of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation and the Far Eastern Federal District develope cooperation
On September 4, 2024, during the Eastern Economic Forum held in Vladivostok from September 3-6, an agreement was signed between the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Far East and the Presidential Library.
Grigory Kuranov, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative, and Yuri Nosov, General Director of the Presidential Library, signed the document.
The aim of the agreement is to cooperate on creating a secure information environment for historical education, preserving historical memory, combating historical falsification, fostering patriotism, and promoting traditional Russian values.
One of the main points of the agreement is to organize information, educational, and cultural activities in the Far Eastern Federal District, primarily among young people, using the resources of the Presidential Library.
Special attention will be given to the development of cooperation with higher education institutions, holding joint events (forums, conferences) and promoting exhibition projects in digital format based on materials from the Presidential Library's collection, including those that showcase the contribution of Soviet people to victory in World War II.
The document envisions the establishment of regional centers of the Presidential Library within the district, which will be used for organizing socio-political, scientific, cultural and educational events at district and regional levels. New remote access centers are planned to be opened, as well as existing ones will be modernized. Currently, more than 110 such centers have already been established in the Far Eastern Federal District.
It is also planned to promote the information resources of the Presidential Library and strengthen partnerships with funding organizations in the Far Eastern Federal District to transfer digital information on the state, socio-economic, historical, and cultural development of important subjects in the district to the Presidential Library's collection.
On the website of the Presidential Library, visitors can explore the ever-growing electronic collection titled The Far East: A Point of Attraction. This collection contains digital copies of official documents, archives, research materials, reference books, periodicals, photo albums, maps, and other materials that tell the story of the region's history, economy, science, and culture.
