Day of Naval Knowledge held at Presidential Library

On September 5, 2024, the Presidential Library held the Day of Naval Knowledge, a traditional event held at the start of the academic year.

The event was attended by representatives of the military, specialists in the fields of studying, preserving, and promoting the legacy of the Russian Navy, as well as heads of educational institutions, military history museums, cadets, and students. Institutions of higher education from various cities of Russia participated via video conference.

Igor Solonko, Director of the Department of Scientific and Educational Work at the Presidential Library, welcomed guests and participants on behalf of Yuri Nosov, Director General of the Presidential Library. Welcoming words were also delivered on behalf of Alexander Moiseev, Chief Commander of the Russian Navy, and Alexander Beglov, Governor of St. Petersburg.

Materials dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of Admiral N. G. Kuznetsov, Hero of the Soviet Union and People's Commissar of the Navy during the Great Patriotic War, were presented to participants and guests of the event. The creation and installation of a monument to Admiral Fyodor Ushakov, a holy righteous warrior, was also discussed. Participants were informed about the heroic history of the Solovetsky School and its graduates.

The Day of Naval Knowledge concluded with a screening of a segment from the documentary "The Main Naval Parade of Russia: 2024."
